Serious Injuries

Serious traumatic injuries—broken bones, herniated discs, nerve damage, brain injuries, amputated limbs, deformity or loss of function of part of your body— resulting in the inability to work can often be a basis for multiple cases.

If the injury was on the job, the State of Florida requires that it be reported as a workers’ compensation claim.

If somebody other than your employer or co-worker was negligent in causing the injuries, there is a personal injury case.

If you are unable to work for more than 12 consecutive months, you have a claim for social security disability.

And if you have a disability policy through work or privately, you can file for short-term and/or long-term disability.
