Serious Injuries
Serious traumatic injuries-broken bones, herniated discs, nerve damage, brain injuries, amputated limbs, deformity or loss of function of part of your body- resulting in the inability to work can often be a basis for multiple cases.
If the injury was on the job, the State of Florida requires that it be reported as a workers' compensation claim.
If somebody other than your employer or co-worker was negligent in cause the injuries, there is a personal injury case.
If you are unable to work for more than 12 consecutive months, you have a claim for social security disability.
And if you have a disability policy through work or privately, you can file for short-term and/or long-term disability.
